"The Evil Triad" is the group-name given to Abominations, Horrors, and Demons. Well, in OOC. When it comes to IC the group of them isn't really called anything in specific. Now then, what are they? Well, overall they're the bad evil things that everybody is afraid of. None of them really get along with each other, but abominations and horrors will always follow a demon's orders without question. That doesn't mean though that two demons can't raise their own personal armies and fight. Abominations and Horrors can be found almost anywhere at any time of the day. Despite this, they're almost never seen. They have a habit of somehow appearing out of nowhere whenever they're ready to attack. You will never see just a roaming abomination or horror. The only time you see them is if they're attacking you or somebody close to you. There is one exception to this though - the Resheniya Plains. The Resheniya Plains are always filled with roaming abominations and horrors - usually fighting each other. You wouldn't be able to walk 10 feet without bumping into an abomination and then another one in another 10 feet. The closer you get to the ruined capital - the denser the population of them are.
Abominations: Abominations are beings created of ill intent. Their only purpose is to cause as much misery and pain as possible. They care for absolutely nothing – not even each other. Abominations can quite literally be made out of almost anything. An abomination may look like a dog with seven eyes, three legs, and large poisonous fangs or it may look like a winged maggot the size of a person. They can even be made out of anything: steel, glass, bones, flesh, eyes, anything. Sometimes you can find similar abominations in “herds” which can vary from a group of 10 to a 10’s of thousands. Of course, the time you find groups that are big enough to be thousand-strong are usually the sort of abominations that all come from one original abomination that can keep on dividing it’s body into smaller ones. Abominations can be anywhere from the size of an ant to that of an elephant; anything bigger than the size of an elephant is called a “Horror”. Abominations are also generally very weak – able to be defeated by the simplest of magicks. A single abomination or even a group of up to 50 are generally no match for even a beginner sorcerer. The size of an abomination also generally shows how powerful it is. A human-sized abomination would be more powerful than a dog-sized one. Why is that? Because only so much magic can only fit into a body; a small body can’t hold as much Vis as a big body. Abominations cannot use magick.
Horrors: Horrors are basically abominations but much larger. Any abomination larger than an elephant is considered to be a horror. You also never see horrors get along with each other unless being commanded by a “Demon”. A horror that has the ability to divide itself into more/smaller bodies of itself would just be considered an abomination as soon as the bodies are smaller than an elephant. Horrors can grow to be quite huge – up to about 100-feet tall and wide. And again, the bigger it is the stronger it is. A 75 foot-tall horror will be stronger than a 40 foot one. Horrors, just like abominations, can literally be made out of/look like almost anything. Maybe a giant 100 foot long whale with writhing tentacles spurting out from all over it’s body with the head of a skinless tiger. Your imagination is what horrors and abominations look like (Yes, they could even be a giant pink unicorn, but let’s try to keep them on the side of horrific/scary, alright =3?). A novice sorcerer can usually take down a single horror by themselves, but when the sorcerer is outnumbered then the chances of winning are drastically reduced. Horrors can use very-limited magick. When I say limited I mean maybe shoot out a ball of fire from… whatever the heck it is they’re shooting it out of (Let’s not forget, they’re horrors that can be almost anything. It could be shooting it out from it’s big-toe that’s bigger than it’s head). Of course it could also just be conjured in thin air.
Demons: Demons are the most malicious of all beings evil. The only proofs to their existence are stories of generally-lone-survivors that escaped from a town being utterly destroyed by one. If you see one – you’re probably going to die. Of course, that’s if you’re a human. Sorcerers are the only ones who can defeat a demon… as long as the sorcerers are in a pretty big group or extremely powerful. And that’s just if the demon is alone which is almost never the case. Demons have the ability to not only create abominations and horrors but to lead them too. Even two horrors that were just in a fight to the death with each other would follow a demon loyally without any problems. Fortunately, demons almost never bother humans. The only demons that ever really stick around the mainland of Maetossa are the ones who just simply wander about – creating new abominations and horrors as they do so. They don’t even bother to attack a human if one is spotted – they just don’t care. However, if a human was in-fact spotted then the legion of horrors and abominations being constantly created would most likely kill the human within seconds – hence why there is next to no proof of demons even really existing. Maybe they don’t even exist at all and are just stories? Maybe this whole paragraph is just a trick to make you think they exist in this roleplay. When you see a demon though – you’ll know it. Demons can be any size yet still contain an unbelievable mass of Vis unlike all other magical beings. They can also use any magic. Unlike abominations and horrors, demons tend to be more... simple when it comes to their form. There is one final trait that sets demons apart from abominations and horrors – they can talk to humans.
NOTE: Demons will only make appearances when controlled by a staff member. Now while you’re RP’ing your character may come across an abomination or horror but they won’t come across a demon. You could always have your character come across a drunken man crying about how he met a demon though and barely escaped… but let’s not forget, it’s a drunken man.
