The Resheniya Plains

Despite not being close to Resheniya itself - the 100 miles surrounding the old capital city has been nicknamed the "Resheniya Plains". Nobody has gotten within 50 miles of the city and made it back alive - even groups of powerful sorcerers. To the east and north are mountains, to the west is a small forest. Everything else is just scorched earth that may never recover from the legendary beast that destroyed the land so many years ago. So, why do people have trouble getting close to the city? Well, because this whole area is practically a breeding ground for abominations and horrors.
