The Cathedral of Validus Res

Right next to the Royal Palace lays the massive gothic-style cathedral, “The Cathedral of Validus Res”. Validus Res is an important figure in the Tirn religion. He was a man who sacrificed himself in order to save a group of children from bandits during an attack on one of the churches. He never tried fighting back – just let himself get beat by a group of men as the children escaped to safety. In his dying words he said that he didn’t fight back because the Tirn religion prohibits fighting of any sort. He also told the witnesses who were there with him until the end to give everything he owned to the children he rescued. He is now regarded as a saint of sorts. In front of the cathedral is a statue of a man striking him down with a club as he protects the children behind him. The inside has walls covered in stained glass windows and row after row of benches for any followers to sit on.
